Actually man powerlifters CAN run 100m nearing 11 seconds, and have insane vertical jumps. I’ve seen the stereotypical fat 5 ft guys dunk a basketball like nothing. Show me a “ripped” bodybuilder or male model type who can do anything close.

The fat super strong guys were always the slowest. Show me these mythical speed demons you speak of. Look up brandon curry in his early days. Hes a bodybuilder who does backflips like no other day. show me a big fat powerlifter who can do that.
@Bertziethegreat they are in the gym nearly everyday. Your body is able to adapt. If you teach your body that it only has to work hard once every 5-6 days, then your body will recover slowly. If you teach it that it has no choice but to recover fast and you feed it the proper nutrition so it can accomplish the task, then you will see how the body will adapt and be strong almost 100% of the time, the body will have true strength.

Conditioning your muscles to recover faster will only go so far. If it were limitless, weightlifters would all be conditioning their bodies to recover instantly, which is ridiculous.
@pxr58b oh really?? There are a TON of cut guys in every gym across America, but very very very few guys who can do these type of weights. You are so ignorant it isn’t even funny. I’ve seen HUGE guys at the gym who couldn’t even clean and jerk 380 lbs while for these guys, that is a warm up weight!

There are two ways to lift, either lift to the point that your muscles are completely trashed and you literally have to wait longer cause they are broken down to the point of muscle damage, or train heavy not to failure and get muscles used to repeated strain, you can see what happens, watch this video What you are calling impossible is being shown on this video.

No. Getting down to contest levels is hard, but just getting to about 8% which is possible to be on for longer periodes for most people, is not that hard. And it is not impressive. You can even get down to that level just buy doing som chill-out leangain approach. It is no stress. Sure it is harder then non-athletes can handle, but not that spechial.
